Piera Panozzo
is the owner of Soleful Touch Reflexology and practices in
Westport and Wilton, CT, and in New York City.
Similar to most
reflexologists, Piera developed an interest in reflexology through
personal experience realizing its effectiveness after her first session,
which left her feeling elated and incredibly energized. Piera completed
her reflexology training at the Open Center in New York City in 2002.
She was certified by the American Reflexology Certification Board
(ARCB) in 2003. The Advanced/Masters Reflexology training program
incorporated concepts of ancient Chinese energy pathways to contemporary
Western systems. She continues her professional development by attending
seminars and workshops given by worldwide experts.
Training in QiGong
practice is what distinguishes Piera in her reflexology practice.
She trained with Master Fa Xiang Hou of QiGong Research Society and
now practices Yan Xin Life Science Technology. Qi or Chi is the Chinese
word for vital, universal energy that flows through all living things.
Qi is comprised of both Yin and Yang forces. In human beings, Qi moves
through the body via the meridian system bringing energy to the entire
body. Gong or Kung is the accomplishment, or level of expertise developed
through study of a discipline. QiGong is the ancient method of moving,
circulating and cultivating Qi in the body to promote healing and
fitness, and to maintain good health. The ancient Chinese practitioners
believed that illness is caused by an imbalance in an individual's
energy field. Illness sets in as a result of Qi blockages in the meridian
system and the organs.
